Private Stem Cell Bank

A small step to a healthy future.

Jeevan Blood Bank and Research Centre stands by you in every hurdle you face to ensure and safeguard your cord blood for a healthy future of your family.

A small step taken by you can ensure a healthier and happier future for your dear ones. You can do this by storing the cord blood. If someone in your family needs a stem cell transplant to treat certain potentially fatal diseases, such as leukemia, sickle cell anemia, lymphomas, and immune deficiencies, there is likelihood that your baby's cord blood might be a good match.

The chance of your child needing his or her own cord blood for transplantation (known as autologous transplantation) is very small. However, this cord blood unit, will provide you with a source of stem cells that could be used for regenerative medicine, the fast advancing science, in the future.

Jeevan's private cord blood / stem cell banking initiative will collect, process, test and store your baby's stem cells for a fee. Jeevan will help to preserve your baby's cord blood and ensure that it is available when anyone in your family needs it.

All you need to do is to provide details about the current pregnancy, a few medical details and family history for certain medical conditions. Based on this information, and keeping your safety and that of your unborn child's in mind, Jeevan will determine if the cord blood can be collected. Once collected, processed and found fit for storage, your baby's cells will be stored for a period of 21 years.

If at the end of 21 years science supports further storage, this can be availed by you for an additional cost. In the event of some one in the family needing these stored stem cells, a high resolution Human Leucocyte Antigen (HLA) typing will be done at an additional cost. This test is done to determine if the stored cells are a perfect tissue match for the intended recipient. If found compatible, for a shipment fee, Jeevan takes responsibility to ship the cells in a special container that will ensure that the temperature during transport is maintained at minus 196 C.
