1995 Established the first 100% component blood bank in India.
1995 Introduced HIV Antigen and Core Antibody to HBV testing.
1999 First blood centre to be certified to ISO 9002 standards. Currently certified to ISO 9001:2000 standards - only centre in South India complying with ISO standards.
2000 Established
the first satellite blood centre in India through a special GO issued by Govt.
of Tamil Nadu.
2000 Jeevan introduced the concept of blood donation in a state of the art fully air-conditioned vehicle to facilitate blood donation in offices and residential areas.
2002 Presented at the International Society of Blood Transfusion Congress on "Leptospirosis - An emerging Transfusion Transmissible Infection." First publication linking this new infection.
2004 Recognised by Give Foundation as an approved Charity Organisation.
2006 Launched the MakeBloodFree Programme with the support of Rotary Club of Madras Metro. Programme currently supports Tanker Foundation and Cancer Institute.
2007 Recognised as a DSIR organisation to promote research and development in the field of transfusion medicine.
2007 Signed MOU with Reametrix, Bangalore to develop new technologies to enhance blood safety.
2007 & 2008 Organised National Workshops on Red Cell Serology with Faculty from USA.
2008 Launch of Jeevan's Cord Blood Bank.
