Don't wait for a call from a blood bank.
Walk in and donate blood.
Blood banks need time to test and store your blood.
Your donation of blood can save upto 4 precious lives .
It takes about 10 minutes to donate blood - less than the time of an average telephone call.
Any healthy adult between 18 years and 60 years of age weighing more than 45 Kgs can donate blood .
Donating blood is safe and simple .
This is what you can expect when you are ready to donate blood:
Before donating blood you need to prepare yourself for the process. Eat well, drink extra water and fluids. Donate blood within 2 hours of eating your meal.

You walk into Jeevan or the blood donation camp organised by Jeevan.

Fill up the form and remember to give accurate information about yourself and your health. This is essential to safeguard the health of the patient and you. The information you provide will decide your eligibility to donate blood. You are responsible for the information you provide!

You will go through a medical examination.

Tests will be done to ensure that your blood haemoglobin level is greater than 12.5 G/L.

If found fit, you will be taken to the area of blood donation.

After careful preparation of the site of needle insertion, blood will be collected in sterile disposable special plastic bag. This should not take more than 10 minutes.

After blood donation, you will be provided light refreshment.

You will receive a certificate and information on dos and don'ts for the next 24 hours.
You can donate blood again after 90 days . The procedure is the same every time you donate blood - either at the blood centre or at a blood donation camp.
